President Luong Cuong arrives in Egypt for State visit
VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by President Luong Cuong and his spouse arrived at Cairo International Airport on the afternoon of August 3 (local time), beginning a State visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his spouse.

Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation at the airport were Minister of Education and Training Mohammed Abdel Latif and Chief of Protocol at the Presidential Office Mohammad Yehia.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung, Vietnamese ambassadors to African countries, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt, as well as a large number of overseas Vietnamese in the host country were also present at the airport to welcome President Cuong and his entourage.
President Cuong’s State visit to Egypt holds strategic significance and is expected to have a lasting impact on the development of Vietnam–Egypt relations. It takes place as Vietnam is striving to fulfill the foreign policy goals set by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, implementing key institutional and infrastructure reforms to boost national development, and preparing for the 14th National Party Congress.
The visit also aligns with the upcoming review of the masterplans “Developing Relations between Vietnam and Middle Eastern–African Countries for the 2016–2025 Period” and “Developing Vietnam–African Union Relations for the 2021–2025 Period.”
Meanwhile, Egypt is actively advancing its “Vision 2030” strategy to strengthen its regional and global standing. Against this backdrop, the visit reflects both countries’ shared aspiration to elevate bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Partnership, opening up new areas of cooperation and untapped potential, promoting friendly cooperation for shared prosperity.
The two sides also aim to strengthen and develop new cooperation mechanisms based on mutual respect for international law, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and each country’s political system.
Importantly, the visit continues the legacy of the historic friendship laid by President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam and President Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt. President Ho Chi Minh once emphasised the importance of fostering ties with Egypt and Arab nations, highlighting the foundation for long-standing Vietnam–Egypt relations.
During the visit, President Luong Cuong is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, and meet with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, President of the Senate Abdel-Razek, and Speaker of the House of Representatives El-Gebaly.
He will also deliver a policy speech at the headquarters of the Arab League, and meet with embassy staff and members of the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Egypt.
