President Luong Cuong arrives in Beijing for V-Day anniversary
VOV.VN - A high-ranking delegation of Vietnam led by President Luong Cuong arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport on September 2, beginning a working trip and participation in the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, at the invitation of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.

President Cuong and his entourage were welcomed at the airport by Chinese Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Xiaoping alongside other Chinese officials, as well as Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.
Taking place amid the deepening, practical, and comprehensive development of Vietnam–China relations, President Cuong’s September 2 – 4 working trip carries significant diplomatic weight. This marks his first official trip to China as President, coinciding with 2025 as the Vietnam – China Year of Humanistic Exchange and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 – 2025). The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties in a substantive and effective manner.
President Cuong’s visit follows closely on the heels of the participation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress of China Zhao Leji and a Chinese military contingent in Vietnam’s 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. This demonstrates the enduring support between the two Parties and countries, rooted in historical cooperation during the struggle for national liberation and continuing in contemporary development efforts.
The commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War serves as a reminder of the historical lessons, indomitable spirit, and desire for peace that this victory embodies. President Cuong’s participation underscores Vietnam’s commitment to global peace, security, and development. It also reinforces Vietnam’s independent, proactive, and multilateral foreign policy, reflecting the country’s responsibility and active contributions to peace, cooperation, and sustainable development regionally and globally.
During the visit, President Cuong is expected to hold talks and meetings with key Chinese leaders to further strengthen and implement high-level common understandings, aimed at enhancing political trust and promoting practical, mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields. In addition, the President will meet with leaders of other countries and international organisations attending the anniversary, providing an opportunity to promote Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development over the past 80 years and convey a positive, trustworthy image of Vietnam and its people to the international community.
