PM meets with Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference leader
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is in Bejing for a working trip to China met with Wang Huning, chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in Beijing on June 26.

The two sides agreed that, after the historic mutual visits by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in 2022 and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Vietnam in 2023, the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership has maintained positive development momentum and has made historic progress. Political trust has been consolidated and strengthened, while cooperation between ministries, agencies and localities has been reinforced, helping to enhance mutual understanding and friendship.
Chinh affirmed that strengthening and developing traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China is an objective requirement, strategic choice, and top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy. He suggested that the two sides concritise the December 2023 joint statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, towards the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2025.
He briefed his host on some new achievements the Communist Party of Vietnam has made in inheriting and creatively applying Marxism-Leninism in accordance with specific conditions in Vietnam, as well as in implementing the Renewal process for nearly 40 years.

Wang for his part affirmed that China always considers relations with Vietnam a priority in its neighbourhood policy and that it consistently supports Vietnam to continue promoting the Renewal policy under the leadership of the Communist Party, successfully implementing national industrialization and modernization, and constantly enhancing Vietnam’s prestige and position globally.
He assured his host that the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference is ready to increase exchanges with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to concretise and promote high-level common perceptions in order to realise the December 2023 joint statement.
The two sides need to strengthen theoretical exchanges to contribute to the cause of building socialism in each country, Wang suggested.
