PM lauds association’s contributions to Vietnam – Czech friendship
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association for promoting close friendship between the two countries during his meeting with Milos Kusy, chairman of the association, in Prague on January 18.
He noted that the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association and Kusy’s personally have made efforts in supporting the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, as well as fostering exchanges and connections between the peoples of the two countries. He reaffirmed that the Vietnamese government always supports and facilitates the Association’s continued engagement alongside the Vietnamese people.
He informed Kusy on Vietnam’s socio-economic situation and said his visit this time aims to further strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in all areas. He called on the Association to continue supporting and promoting the Vietnam-Czech relationship, making it more profound, substantive, and effective.
Kusy for his part recalled the significant visit of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong to the Czech Republic in 1957, which left many important milestones. He expressed confidence that Chinh’s visit would usher in a new phase in the relationship between the two countries.
Kusy expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s remarkable development, and noted the Association has closely collaborated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Prague, Vietnamese community organizations in the Czech Republic, and the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association to foster bilateral relations, as well as cooperation between ministries, sectors, and localities in both countries.
He proposed that Vietnam work with the Czech Republic to promote people-to-people exchanges so as to facilitate mutual understanding of each other’s countries, people, and cultures, including the establishment of a Vietnamese Cultural Center in the Czech Republic.
He affirmed that the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association would do its utmost to stand alongside Vietnam in its development journey and to nurture the relationship between the two countries.
Chinh welcomed Kusy’s proposal and stated that he would assign the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries and agencies to study the establishment of a Vietnamese Cultural Center in the Czech Republic.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is in Prague for a three-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
