Party leader To Lam warmly welcomed in Minsk on Belarus visit
VOV.VN - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko hosted a welcoming ceremony in Minsk on May 12 for Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam who was on a two-day state visit to Belarus.

Lukashenko welcomed Lam at the car entrance as the motorcade carrying the Vietnamese leader arrived at the Independence Palace in Minsk at 10:50 A.M. (local time). The two leaders shook hands and exchanged greetings, marking the beginning of the State visit of the Vietnamese Party leader to Belarus.
Lukashenko then invited his guest to the honourary podium, as military bands played the national anthems of both Vietnam and Belarus.
The two leaders then reviewed the guard of honour and introduced members of their respective delegations, before holding talks on measures to reinforce the long-standing friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Vietnam and Belarus have maintained and strengthened their traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation, built on growing political trust. Both sides regularly exchange delegations, serving as a strong foundation for deepening bilateral ties that have stood the test of time for decades.
This is the Vietnamese leader’s first official visit to Belarus in 11 years. The Belarusian leaders have consistently affirmed Vietnam’s role as an important partner in Southeast Asia, expressing a desire to not only expand cooperation in traditional sectors, but also explore new areas of potential.
The two countries currently enjoy effective cooperation in areas such as science and technology, education and training, culture, sports, and tourism, transport, and local-level partnerships.
