Party General Secretary and President To Lam ends state visit to China
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse alongside other Vietnamese officials left Beijing on August 20, concluding an official state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
They were seen off at Beijing Capital International Airport by Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong. Crowds of Vietnamese expatriates in China were also present at the farewell ceremony.
During his three-day stay, Party chief and President To Lam held talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, and met other Chinese leaders, including Premier Li Qiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, and chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
He also called at the Party school of the Chinese Communist Party, and MEGVII, one of China’s leading enterprises to develop artificial intelligence technology for businesses and the public sector. He also dropped at historical relic sites in Guangzhou city where Pham Hong Thai, one of Vietnamese revolutionary activists, is resting in peace, and where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during his overseas search for national salvation from 1924 to 1927.
The two countries released a joint statement on further strengthening the Vietnam – China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and concretising the building of the Vietnam – China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Vietnam and China signed 14 cooperation documents in various fields such as Party affairs, import and export of agricultural products, radio and television broadcasting, health care, infrastructure, economics, trade, industry, and banking, during the visit.
