Party chief To Lam receives Cambodian delegation in Hanoi
VOV.VN - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam received a high-level delegation of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), led by Ouch Borith, member of the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee, first vice president of the Cambodian Senate, in Hanoi on January 20.
To Lam welcomed Borith’s visit which he said would help deepen the traditional friendship between the two parties and countries.
He expressed his joy at the significant achievements Cambodia has made in building and developing the nation under the wise leadership of King Sihamoni and the CPP.
The Party leader thanked Cambodia for its support and assistance to Vietnam in its past struggle for national liberation, as well as in its current national development. He also praised the friendly, traditional, and sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, and affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam highly value this relationship with Cambodia.
The Party General Secretary proposed that both sides continue to expand deeper and more effective cooperation in areas, through maintaining visit exchanges, promoting economic connectivity, boosting bilateral trade, and coordinating to ensure political stability, security, and social order in both countries.
Borith, for his part, commended the significant achievements made by the Vietnamese people during the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, and expressed his confidence that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam would continue to achieve greater success and successfully implement the resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress.
He expressed his deep gratitude for the valuable and effective support Vietnam has given to Cambodia in the past struggle for national independence and in the current development efforts. He affirmed Cambodia’s determination to further nurture and preserve the good neighbourly relationship and traditional friendship between the two countries.
On the same day, Le Hoai Trung, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, held a meeting with the Cambodian delegation.
