Hun Sen affirms close relations between Cambodia and Vietnam
VOV.VN - Cambodia will work closely together with Vietnam to further develop bilateral relations based on the principles of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-lasting sustainability,” said Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
Hun Sen, who is also president of the Senate of Cambodia, made the commitment while meeting with Le Hoai Trung, secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission during the latter’s visit on December 23-24.
He affirmed that that the traditional friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam has been developing over the years characterized by a high level of trust between the two countries’ top leaders.
Hun Sen also spoke highly of the development and foreign affairs achievements Vietnam has recorded under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and wished Vietnam success in meeting its development goals, including becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.
Trung for his part congratulated Cambodia on its significant achievements in all areas under the leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party, particularly the country’s strong development in all sectors, the improvement of people’s living standards, and the growing role and status of Cambodia on the international stage.
On this occasion, he also conveyed greetings from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, and other Vietnamese leaders to Hun Sen and other senior leaders of Cambodia.
