NA leader Vuong Dinh Hue begins working visit to Thailand

VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is scheduled to begin a four-day official visit to Thailand on December 7 at the invitation of Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wan Muhamad Noor Matha.

The visit aims to foster substantial and effective cooperation between the two countries in all fields and through various channels, including parliaments.

This is the first visit to Thailand by a senior leader of Vietnam after Thailand formed a new Government.

Over the past years, Vietnam and Thailand have reinforced their enhanced strategic partnership through implementing the Action Program for 2022 – 2027 in all fields, including politics, defense-security, economy, trade, investment, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

Currently, Thailand is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in ASEAN and the ninth in the world, with two-way trade turnover reaching nearly US$21.6 billion, up 15.2% compared to 2021. Thailand ranks ninth among foreign investors globally and second among ASEAN countries pouring investment into Vietnam. The two countries are actively implementing the ‘Three Connections’ strategy related to the supply chain, businesses and localities, and sustainable growth.

The two countries have continued to closely coordinate their positions at regional and international forums, especially at the United Nations, ASEAN, APEC, and Mekong sub-regional mechanisms.

During Hue’s visit, the two sides are expected to sign a cooperation document between the two legislative bodies, aimed at promoting bilateral parliamentary cooperation and creating the prerequisite for upgrading Vietnam – Thailand relations to new heights.
