Lao Party leader works with Hanoi authorities
VOV.VN - Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith on January 27 led a high-level delegation of the Lao Party and State to visit and work with the Hanoi Party Committee and the municipal administration, as part of his two-day State visit to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc briefed the Lao delegation on the city’s socio-economic development results and its experience in streamlining administrative structures and apparatus.
Ngoc also presented Hanoi’s orientations for organising the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress that concluded recently in the capital.
Sisoulith warmly congratulated Vietnam on the success of the 14th National Party Congress and highly appreciated Hanoi’s socio-economic achievements, its experience in administrative reform and streamlining, as well as the city’s orientations for implementing the Party’s Resolution.
He expressed his impression of Hanoi’s recent accomplishments, particularly its efforts in promoting digitalisation in leadership and administration and the effective combination of in-person and online working modalities. He wished for ever-stronger friendship between Hanoi and Vientiane, and proposed that the two capitals further expand cooperation programmes across all fields, so that Hanoi and Vientiane become exemplary models of cooperation.
The leader of Hanoi affirmed that the city would continue to work closely with Vientiane to further strengthen economic linkages and comprehensive cooperation, contributing to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
As part of the visit, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and the delegation visited an exhibition space showcasing traditional handicraft and craft village products of Hanoi.
