Jordan House Speaker Mazen Turki El Qadi to pay official visit to Vietnam
VOV.VN - The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mazen Turki El Qadi, will pay an official visit to Vietnam from February 2 to 5 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on January 29.
The visit comes as Vietnam and Jordan seek to deepen political trust and expand cooperation across multiple sectors following positive momentum in bilateral ties.
Vietnam and Jordan have maintained traditional relationship since the establishment of diplomatic ties on August 9, 1980. Senior leaders of both countries have exchanged visits in recent years and agreed to bring the relationship into a new phase of development.
During a state visit to Vietnam by Jordan’s King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in November 2025, the two sides pledged to strengthen cooperation in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, agriculture, digital transformation, telecommunications, education, healthcare and tourism, as well as to enhance coordination at regional and international forums.
Economic ties have continued to grow, with two-way trade reaching about US$188 million in 2024. Both sides aim to raise the annual trade to US$500 million by 2030 and US$1 billion by 2035.
Vietnam mainly exports agricultural products, seafood, electronics, textiles and wood products to Jordan, while Jordan supplies fertilizers and chemical products to Vietnam.
The two countries are also working to expand cooperation between their parliaments and improve legal frameworks to facilitate business and investment.
The upcoming visit by the Jordanian House Speaker is expected to further consolidate parliamentary cooperation and create new impetus for practical collaboration, contributing to a stronger and more substantive partnership between the two countries.
