Foreign leaders congratulate Vietnam on the 80th National Day

VOV.VN - Leaders of many countries around the world have sent messages of congratulation to the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and people of Vietnam on the country’s 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

In their congratulatory messages, the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction affirmed that the victory of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day is a source of common pride and great encouragement for Laos in its cause of national construction and defence. Lao leaders expressed their belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam would continue to achieve great successes and build a prosperous, modern, democratic, fair, and civilised industrialized nation.

Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, along with other senior leaders of China, sent congratulations, highly appreciating Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and its growing role in the region and the world. They affirmed that China regards Vietnam as a priority direction in its neighborhood diplomacy and expressed the wish to further deepen the China–Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

In their congrtulator messages, King Norodom Sihamoni and Cambodian leaders stressed that September 2 is a historic milestone that reflects the solidarity and resilient will of the Vietnamese people. The Cambodian leaders expressed confidence that Vietnam would realise its goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045. They also affirmed their commitment to further strengthening relations of good-neighborliness, friendship, and sustainable cooperation with Vietnam.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez praised Vietnam’s historic victories, affirming that the country’s struggle for independence and its Renovation process remain a source of inspiration. He stressed that Cuba would continue to nurture the deep bond of friendship between the two peoples.

President Vladimir Putin and other senior leaders of Russia extended congratulations, emphasising that Vietnam has made remarkable achievements over the past 80 years and now continues to affirm its international standing. The Russian leaders also said that the Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership is developing positively, bringing benefits to the peoples of both countries.

In his message of congratulation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed admiration for the resilience of the Vietnamese people, emphasising that the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam is a key pillar of India’s “Act East” policy.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party and President of the Democratic People[‘s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and DPRK Prime Minister Pak Thae Song expressed confidence that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK would continue to develop in line with the common interests of both peoples.

In their messages, Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Prime Minister Gombojav Zandanshatar, and State Great Khural (parliament) Chairman Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements and expressed their belief that the country would continue to grow stronger and enhance its international position.

In addition, leaders of many political parties and foreign ministers from various countries also sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government of Vietnam.
