Egypt always considers Vietnam an important partner
VOV.VN - Egypt attaches importance to relations with Vietnam and considers the Southeast Asian nation an important partner, said Ayman Kamel, Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia.
Kamel was speaking while receiving newly accredited Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo recently.
He suggested that the two countries promote bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially in areas of their strengths such as agriculture, aquaculture and seafood processing, garment making, tourism, education and vocational training, while increasing collaboration at regional and international forums.
He also suggested that the newly accredited Ambassador encourage Vietnamese enterprises to actively expand investment and business in Egypt.
For his part, Ambassador Dung affirmed that Vietnam desires to foster the good traditional friendship with African friends, including Egypt, and at the same time considers Egypt a leading important partner in the region.
He highly appreciated Egypt’s diplomatic activities, making an important contribution to enhancing the country’s position in the region as well as in the world.
The Ambassador thanked Egypt for supporting Vietnam in joining the United Nations Human Rights Council for 2023-2025, and proposed that the two sides coordinate closely in organizing activities to celebrate 60 years of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2023.
Earlier, on March 31, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung presented his credentials to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo.
