Ecuador seeks to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam
VOV.VN - Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa praised Vietnam’s impressive development achievements, and expressed his desire to enhance cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation, during a meeting with newly accredited Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong in capital Quito on August 14.

President Noboa highlighted Vietnam’s important role in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, hoping that the two countries would grow closer and that bilateral relations would continue to achieve new milestones.
He suggested expanding exchanges of delegations and strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, while sharing development experience in key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, textiles, and manufacturing.
President Noboa expressed his hope that the Ambassador would actively contribute to promoting Vietnam-Ecuador friendship and wished him a successful tenure.
Ambassador Cuong who presented the credentials to the President conveyed greetings from Vietnam’s senior leaders and extended an official invitation from President Luong Cuong to the President to visit Vietnam.
Emphasising that Vietnam-Ecuador relations are on a positive trajectory with strong potential for further cooperation, the Ambassador affirmed that a key focus of his tenure would be deepening bilateral ties.
On the same day, Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong also presented a copy of his Letter of Credentials to Ecuador’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Gabriela Sommerfeld.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Sommerfeld expressed admiration for Vietnam’s heroic history and emphasised that Vietnam is an important partner for Ecuador in the Asia-Pacific region. She proposed enhancing bilateral exchanges, especially at high levels, and encouraged Vietnam and Ecuador to continue cooperating and supporting each other at multilateral forums in the future.
