Vietnam and Ecuador willing to deepen bilateral relations
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Ecuador have pledged to elevate their bilateral partnership, with a focus on practical cooperation in key areas, while enhancing diplomatic and international collaboration.

The agreement was reached during a meeting in Tianjin, China, on June 25 between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, on the sidelines of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum.
Chinh affirmed that Vietnam highly values its multifaceted cooperation with Ecuador, and expressed a desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation across key sectors such as trade, investment, agriculture, finance, and telecommunications. He proposed that both countries continue negotiating and signing cooperation agreements in areas such as trade, investment, finance, and agriculture.
He specifically suggested facilitating investment by Vietnam’s military run telecom group Viettel to develop telecommunications, 5G services, and digital transformation in Ecuador, which would contribute to national development and create jobs for local people.
Meanwhile, Noboa affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner for Ecuador. He shared his personal connection and long-standing admiration for Vietnam, especially its agricultural production capacity and coffee industry. He also expressed interest in boosting educational cooperation, particularly in STEM education, and in enhancing people-to-people and youth exchanges between the two countries.
Regarding telecommunications cooperation, the President agreed to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to participate in Ecuador’s 5G network development plan.
The two leaders agreed to further promote high-level visits and delegation exchanges, make full use of existing cooperation mechanisms, and expand trade and investment promotion efforts, business connectivity, and sectoral cooperation in each country's areas of strength. They also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
