Deputy PM suggests stronger cooperation between Vietnam and Israel
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Israel should increase the exchange of high-level visits to help further multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, suggested Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang while playing a courtesy visit to Israeli President Isaac Herzog on July 25.
During the meeting, Quang, who is on an official visit to Israel, spoke highly of the positive development of Vietnam – Israel relations over the past three decades and affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to consolidating and further developing good friendship and cooperation with Israel.
Vietnam encourages and creates favourable conditions for Israeli businesses to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the areas of Israeli strength and Vietnamese need, such as science - technology, innovation, start-ups, labour force, he told his host.
Herzog for his part highly valued Vietnam’s role and position as well as its socio-economic development achievements in recent times, and hoped that Quang’s visit would open up a good opportunity to strongly promote the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Both host and guest exchanged a number of specific measures to further improve the efficiency of bilateral cooperation, including implementing the Vietnam – Israel Free Trade Agreement (VIFTA) to be signed during the visit, increasing two-way trade turnover, and enhancing investment and tourism cooperation. They stressed the importance of soon opening direct flights and facilitating visa granting for citizens of the two countries to foster people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang respectfully conveyed the greetings and invitation of President Vo Van Thuong to President Isaac Herzog to visit Vietnam soon, and the invitation was accepted with pleasure.
