30 years of Vietnam-Israel diplomatic ties celebrated in Tel Aviv

VOV.VN - The 30th anniversary of Vietnam-Israel diplomatic relations and the 78th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day were celebrated on July 23 in Tel Aviv within the framework of an official visit of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.

As part of his address at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung emphasised that the friendly and co-operative relationship between both sides has continuously developed in a multitude of fields since the establishment of their diplomatic ties on July 12, 1993.

He said both nations’ leaders have made mutual visits and held working sessions aimed at building frameworks to facilitate the development of bilateral relations in the fields of politics, economy, trade, investment, smart agriculture, and high technology.

The Vietnamese diplomat stated that Israel is supporting the nation in training human resources in science and technology, with the goal of implementing the agricultural trainee programme and sending technical medical experts to the nation to share experiences and knowledge.

In response, Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Innovation Ofir Akunis said that both sides are enjoying close co-operation across multiple fields, especially agriculture and health.

Israel therefore hopes that after the two sides sign the bilateral free trade agreement, it will be quickly approved and come into force for the overall benefit of the two economies, the Israeli Minister said.

He also pledged to accelerate joint projects on innovative research, a startup ecosystem, and technology transfer. This comes after Deputy Prime Minister Quang and his entourage visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community based in the Middle East country.

The representative of the 500-strong Vietnamese community in Israel proposed that both the State and Government strive to create favourable conditions in terms of policies and procedures for overseas Vietnamese businesses as a means of investing in their homeland and united in building the country, as well as helping to bring more Vietnamese labourers to Israel to work.
