VOV.VN - China has expressed hope to strengthen the China–Vietnam shared future community at a higher strategic level through the coming state visit by Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President To Lam, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
Party General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse will lead a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to visit China from April 14-17 at the invitation of Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
Alongside high-level talks with the top Chinese leader, the top Vietnamese leader will also meet Premier Li Qiang, National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji, and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Chairman Wang Huning, said spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular press briefing in Beijing on April 9.
According to the spokesperson, Xi Jinping’s state visit to Vietnam in April 2025 advanced bilateral relations to a new stage, highlighting the strategic significance of building a shared future community. The Vietnamese leader’s choice of China as his first foreign visit after assuming office underscores Vietnam’s high regard for bilateral ties.
China hopes this visit will continue to strengthen traditional friendship, deepen comprehensive strategic partnership, promote the development of a higher-level shared future community, advance global socialist causes, and jointly safeguard regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity, she said.
