China hails outcomes of Xi Jinping’s state visit to Vietnam

VOV.VN - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian voiced China’s appreciation for the outcomes of the recent state visit to Vietnam by Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, which he said would add fresh impetus to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The visit is a full success which adds new dynamism to the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future and the socialist cause of the two countries, and provides positive energy for prosperity and stability in the region and beyond, Lin said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on April 16.

The spokesperson highlighted Xi’s major activities during the leader’s April 14-15 visit, including his high-level talks and meetings with senior Vietnamese leaders.

The Party General Secretaries of the two countries jointly witnessed the display of 45 bilateral cooperation documents signed between Vietnam and China and attended the launching ceremony of the Vietnam – China railway cooperation mechanism.

The two sides issued a joint statement on further deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and accelerating the building of the Vietnam - China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

According to the spokesperson, 2025 marks 75 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and China, and the Year of Vietnam – China Humanistic Exchange, which presents an important opportunity to build on what has been achieved and take the relationship into the next chapter.

During his stay, Xi proposed six measures to deepen the building of the joint community with a shared future, including elevating strategic mutual trust to a higher level, building more robust security safeguards, expanding higher-quality mutually beneficial cooperation, consolidating broader social cohesion, carrying out closer multilateral coordination, and engaging in more constructive maritime interactions.

Both sides agreed to firmly strengthen friendship, support each other in pursuing the socialist path suited to their respective national conditions, and raise strategic mutual trust to new heights. They consented to build a more substantive foundation for security cooperation, leverage opportunities from China’s new quality productive forces and Vietnam’s developing productive capacities to create a deeper, more comprehensive model of cooperation.

They vowed to strengthen the social foundation of the shared future community, coordinate more closely in multilateral strategies, properly manage and resolve differences, and maintain the overall atmosphere of Vietnam - China friendship.

China will work with Vietnam to implement the important common understandings between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, renew their long-standing friendship featuring “camaraderie plus brotherhood”, act in line with the overarching goals characterized by “six mores”, and advance their comprehensive strategic cooperation with high-quality efforts, said Lin.

China will uphold international fairness and justice, ensure steady and sustained progress in building the Vietnam - China community with a shared future, and make new and greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind, added the spokesperson.
