Australia welcomes outcomes of Vietnam’s 14th National Party Congress
VOV.VN - The Australian Government has welcomed the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, noting the country’s clear policy continuity and commitment to ongoing economic reform, global integration and sustainable development.
Gillian Bird, Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam, congratulated Vietnam’s new leadership and reaffirmed Australia’s readiness to further deepen the partnership.
“Australia congratulates Vietnam’s newly elected leadership and welcomes the Congress’s reaffirmation of Vietnam’s long‑term direction. Australia is a steadfast, reliable and trusted partner of Vietnam, and is committed to working with Vietnam to shape the peaceful, stable, and prosperous region that we both want,” Ambassador Bird said.
“As a Comprehensive Strategic Partner, Australia stands ready to support Vietnam’s next phase of development through practical cooperation – from digital transformation, to education and the clean energy transition. These efforts will help deliver sustainable and inclusive growth for both our nations,” Ambassador Bird added.

The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam took place in Hanoi from January 19-23. The Congress elected the Party Central Committee, Political Bureau, Secretariate, Central Inspection Commission. General Secretary To Lam was re-elected for the new term.
