Cambodian Deputy PM positive on Vietnamese President’ visit

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea made statement in a recent media exchange held in Phnom Penh.
The Cambodian Deputy PM described the visit as a symbol of the "good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability" motto that characterises mutual relations.
He emphasised the historical foundation of joint ties, saying it is crucial to reaffirm that this friendship is not new, but is actually a cherished tradition.
Looking ahead, the official highlighted comprehensive bilateral co-operation across various fields, including national defence, education, health care, trade, and investment as being key areas for continued collaboration.
The motto followed in diplomatic ties can be used to guide relations between the two countries, particularly for future generations, he said, adding that by understanding and following this path both sides will grow and flourish, meeting the shared aspirations of their peoples.
Cambodian Deputy PM Sophea urged the two countries to work together in regional endeavors and expressed his confidence that as members of ASEAN they can play a vital role in enhancing the bloc's centrality, ultimately benefiting both nations.
Furthermore, he voiced support for multilateral co-operation among Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
