(VOV) - Vietnam ranked the 75th out of 141 countries in the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI), five grades higher than 2013.
The WEF issues the TTCI report biennially basing on four factors: environment, policy, infrastructure, and natural and cultural resources.
Top ten countries in the TTCI ranking 2015 are Spain, France, Germany, the US, the UK, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Japan, and Canada.
Singapore takes the lead in ASEAN and comes 11th in the TTIC ranking.
Vietnam’s tourism environment (security, health care, sanitation) reaches 4.6 out of 7 points, policy (3.7 points), and natural and cultural resources (2.9 points). Infrastructure is evaluated at the lowest level among four criteria.
Although the country has not made many breakthroughs, it has jumped in the TTCI ranking in recent years from 89th/140 countries in 2009 to 80th in 2011 and 2013.
