Special honey at InterContinental Nha Trang
Having hot bread with home-made honey and other food specialties cooked with the sweet yellowish viscid fluid is an enjoyable experience for guests when having buffet breakfast at the InterContinental Nha Trang in the central coastal city of Nha Trang.
The luxury hotel arranges its buffet breakfast in a distinctive way and the honey-infusion corner is one of the highlights. It is impressive to observe a flock of busy bees gathering in a big beehive made from glass placed amidst breads, sandwiches and various kinds of honey in the center of the buffet station.
It is a delight to enjoy a crispy and hot sandwich served with sweet honey. Guests should not miss other food specialties served at the buffet breakfast, including veal with honey and honey-glazed ham.
Apart from dishes, the hotel’s Lobby Bar also serves infused ginger tea with honey, and honey cocktail. These drinks are mixed with honey the hotel gets from the bees raised in its garden.
InterContinental Nha Trang is among many hotels worldwide which keeps bees but the first hotel in Nha Trang City to invest in such an urban beekeeping project.
InterContinental Nha Trang launched its beekeeping project one year ago after a proposal from its culinary team, who are committed to creating an educational attraction for hotel guests. The project helps supply organic honey for the hotel and support the environment.
The hotel’s general manager Pascal Caubo said, “The modern hospitality industry is urging every hotel and resort to go green, from energy efficiency to practicing environmentally friendly operations. Our hotel desires to give back to the local community and the beekeeping project is a perfect fit for our initiative.”
Approximately 300,000 honeybees patronize the “InterContinental Bee Residence”. Custom-built with compartments, the bee residence is made up of beehive walls that house 7,000 honeybees each.
Every day, the bees fly over the green neighborhoods of Nha Trang and gather a variety of pollen and nectar, which in turn become truly delicious golden honey.
This honey contributes to the hotel’s enriched organic ingredients in its menus of dishes.
Guests who wish to enjoy the farm-to-table sweet delights can come to the daily buffet breakfast at the Cookbook Café, the main restaurant of the InterContinental Nha Trang on lobby level from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Located on seaside Tran Phu Street, InterContinental Nha Trang is the latest addition to InterContinental family in Vietnam.
The hotel has 279 guest rooms and suites with balcony and private sitting area.
