Amazing Bao Dai Palace in Da Lat

VOV.VN - The Kings Palace No. 1, a French-style architectural villa formerly belonging to King Bao Dai – the last king of Vietnam’s feudal court - is regarded as one of the best places of interest when visiting Da Lat city in the central highland province of Lam Dong.

Covering 18 hectares, Bao Dai Palace No. 1 is located amongst romantic hills surrounded by pine forests.
The palace was built by Robert Clément Bourgery, a wealthy French officer, in the 1940’s.
In 1949, Bao Dai bought the villa and renovated it into a headquarters and workplace for his officials until 1955.
From 1956, under the Ngo Dinh Diem administration, the Palace served as a private presidential residence and later used as a place of retreat for heads of state of the Saigon regime.
: After 1975, the Palace was transferred to local enterprises for tourism purposes.
