Traditionally, local people hold the festival in order for them to pray for peace and happiness for their friends and relatives. |
The most notable aspect of the festival is the sparkling and colourful lanterns placed throughout the streets which make the city appear attractive to tourists. |
Hoi An is a renowned city that is located in the central province of Quang Nam. It is known globally as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port that dates back to the 15th century and thrived as a major economic power through to the 19th century. |
The ancient city is home to 1,360 relic sites. |
The city has been well preserved, in fact, Hoi An has remained largely unchanged for centuries. |
