Vietnam’s largest pagoda crowded on first Lunar New Year days

Situated in Ba Sao town in Kim Bang district, the pagoda, part of the Tam Chuc tourist area complex that covers more than 500ha, welcome thousands of pilgrims and visitors on February 17.

In order to move between the parking area and the temple, visitors are able to travel either by boat or by shuttle car. Due to the area’s popularity, the wharf is constantly crowded with visitors, with ticket prices set at VND200,000 per person for round-trips.

Tourists all try to board a boat, carrying only 60 people on board per voyage.

Due to the burden placed on the electric cars and boats at the site, the Management Board also moves to mobilise passenger cars to serve visitors.

From the third to the seventh days of the first lunar month, about 10,000 visitors head to the relic site daily. On the eighth day, or February 17, the pagoda is expected to welcome about 20,000 arrivals.
