The Russian President’s state visit to Vietnam this year is made amid both nations celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Treaty on the Principles of the Friendly Relations and on the threshold of the 75th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties in 2025.

Earlier at Hanoi Opera House, President To Lam and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a cordial meeting with leaders of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and Vietnamese alumni who had studied in Russia.

The Russian leader expressed his hope that Vietnamese alumni who had studied in Russia would continue to help the younger generations of Vietnam to understand more about the Russian culture, country and people, thereby preserving and fostering the traditional brotherly friendship between the two nations.
