During their talks, the two sides agree to define a new strategic vision for Vietnam–RoK economic linkages, including promoting cooperation in joint development of production chains and contributing to the goal of achieving US$150 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. Vietnam and the RoK will also enhance strategic coordination in diplomacy, defence, and security, while elevating cooperation in science–technology, cultural industries, and more.

Following the talks, General Secretary To Lam and President Lee Jae-myung attend a joint press conference and witness the exchange of 10 cooperation documents between ministries, sectors, and agencies of the two countries in defence, security, economy, trade, labour, culture, and other fields.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, the General Secretary proposes that the RoK support Vietnamese businesses in accessing Korean e-commerce channels and engaging more deeply in global supply chains of Korean enterprises, as well as opening markets for each other’s goods. Also on August 12, General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Kim Min-seok attendsd the Vietnam–RoK Economic Forum, attracting the participation of more than 400 businesses from both countries. Both sides sign many cooperation documents in the fields of energy, industry, digital infrastructure, digital transformation, supply chains, finance, and banking.

General Secretary To Lam also attends the Vietnam–RoK Science and Technology Cooperation Seminar on August 12. There the General Secretary affirms the importance of science and technology, stressing that Vietnam always prioritises attracting talented individuals, scientists, and intellectuals from both within the country and abroad, including from the RoK, especially the overseas Vietnamese community.

On the afternoon of August 12, General Secretary To Lam meets with leaders of 17 major Korean conglomerates to hear their opinions and proposals, address obstacles in investment procedures, and continue implementing solutions to open up practical and breakthrough cooperation opportunities between the business communities of the two countries.
