(VOV) - Singapore-based agribusiness giant Wilmar International has agreed to invest US$13 million in a 49-51 deal with Vietnamese sauce maker Saigon Co.op to produce differing types of sauces and spices.

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam , aiming to support European investors in Vietnam and promoting Vietnam’s exports to European markets.

(VOV) - JYSK, a global furniture brand from Denmark, has granted a franchise for a Vietnamese partner – NeatClean – to open JYSK furniture shops in Vietnam.

The great advantage of the service is that passengers, who just need to have a smartphone with a 3G or internet connection, can call a taxi within the shortest possible time, know their itineraries in advance, and calculate the service fees they have to pay. 

Making his third visit to Vietnam on October 19, GE’s chairman and CEO Jeffrey R. Immelt showed his eagerness of expanding the global player’s operations in renewable energy, healthcare, and aviation following the growing country’s new engagements under global and regional free trade agreements. 

About three million people in Vietnam are classified as middle class, whose average property is worth about US$18,074, according to Credit Suisse.

(VOV) - On October 22, the Japan Sumitomo Group got the green light from the Vinh Phuc provincial People’s Committee to proceed with construction of the Thang Long III Industrial Park.

The People’s Committee of southern Binh Duong province granted investment licenses to 38 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the locality on October 23, including 23 newly-licensed and 15 already-operational projects, worth a total of US$531.8 million.
