Zara to open more stores in Vietnam next year
Nikkei quoted a representative of Mitra Adiperkasa, the operator of Zara retail stores in Vietnam, as saying that the firm would open more Zara stores in Vietnam next year.
Fetty Kwartati, a representative of Mitra Adiperkasa, said through a subsidiary in Vietnam, this company is planning to open a number of Zara stores in the coming year. It also plans to launch shops selling other clothing brands of Inditex such as Bershka and Massimo Dutti.
The expansion of its presence in Vietnam was revealed after Mitra announced its partnerships with US-based General Atlantic.
According to Nikkei, Mitra joined the franchise market with international brands Zara, Starbucks, Burger King and Topman in Indonesia. It currently operates 15 stores selling Spanish clothing brands. It also manages nearly 2,000 stores of more than 150 brands in 66 cities in Indonesia.
The company marked its entrance into the Vietnamese market on September 8 with the opening of a 2,400-square-meter store in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. The store is its first Zara outlet outside Indonesia.
