Aeon invests US$500 million in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Aeon Mall now owns four shopping malls and nearly 50 shops in Vietnam after two years joining the country’s retail market.

Yasuo Nishitohge, Director General of Aeon Vietnam, said the company prepares to inaugurate its fourth shopping mall in July in Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City on an area of 16,500 sq.m.

Aeon has invested US$500 million in operating these four shopping malls, Mr.Nishitohge said, adding that the group expects to run 20 shopping centres in Vietnam by 2020.

Besides, Aeon also owns Citimart and Fivimart with nearly 50 shops in Vietnam and aims to increase to 100-200 shops in the next 5-10 years.

The director general said Aeon will establish a subsidiary company specializing in products under Aeon TOPVALU Vietnam brand to supply its shopping centers in the country and export to the region.
