Volkswagen executive appointed new CEO of VinFast Global

The move will see Lohscheller take responsibility for expanding VinFast's business operations and presence globally.

As part of his new role, Lohscheller will be in charge of directing VinFast's operations in numerous existing markets including Vietnam, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Furthermore, he will also be involved in guiding the group’s strategy in the international market, with the primary goal of transforming VinFast into a global smart electric car company.

After gaining experience for several years through holding numerous leadership positions for major automakers, including vice president of Volkswagen Group in the US and the Global CEO of Opel, Lohscheller represents one of the leading experts in the automotive industry.

Le Thi Thu Thuy, vice chairwoman of Vingroup, emphasised that Lohscheller's participation as part of VinFast's senior management team reaffirms the firm’s long-term strategic goal of attracting outstanding talents and acquiring management expertise from elite circles within the global automotive industry.

Lohscheller revealed that he has always been motivated by fresh challenges in his career, adding that he was also lured by the growth opportunities that exist with the Vietnamese car maker.

He went on to express his hope that he can work alongside the leadership team to grow the company and establish it as a global smart electric car company.
