Vinamilk makes it on to Nikkei’s Asian watch list

The Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) is on Nikkei Asian Review’s Asia300 list, which names Asia’s most dynamic companies, a company representative said on March 18.

Also included on the list are the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), FPT Corporation, Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation and Vingroup.

Total market capitalisation of the five Vietnamese enterprises is valued at more than US$21.2 billion, nearly US$7.3 billion of which comes from Vinamilk , Vietnam ’s largest company by market capitalisation.

Last year, Nikkei Asian Review also listed Vinamilk among ASEAN’s top 100 valuable enterprises and Asia 300 list. The journal said that Vinamilk is the biggest milk production company in Vietnam with diversified products.

The company raked in over VND40.2 trillion (US$1.8 billion) in revenue in 2015, 15% higher than the previous year. Some 6 billion dairy products were distributed in the domestic market last year.

Asia300 features leading companies from eleven countries, including China and members of ASEAN. The companies are chosen based on market capitalisation, growth potential and geographical development.
