VIFA ASEAN 2025 attracts over 200 local and foreign firms
VOV.VN - More than 200 domestic and international enterprises are showcasing products at the Vietnam ASEAN International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA ASEAN 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City, highlighting Vietnamese craftsmanship and design on the global stage.

The fair that opened on August 26 features a diverse range of products, including indoor and outdoor furniture, decorative items, handicrafts, materials, woodworking machinery, and supporting services.
In his opening remarks, Vu Ba Phu, director of the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, emphasised the growing significance of the event.
"VIFA ASEAN has become one of the most anticipated annual gatherings for the wood, furniture, and handicraft industries in Southeast Asia. It not only presents high-quality products but also serves as a vital platform for Vietnamese businesses to connect globally and stay ahead of emerging market trends," Phu said.
Tran Ngoc Liem, director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Ho Chi Minh City, noted that the fair comes at a time when Vietnamese import-export activities are showing strong growth.
He said the timber and wood products sector remains a standout, with export turnover rising by 8.9% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
Much of this growth was driven by the United States market, where exports surged 11.6%, accounting for more than 55% of the industry’s total export turnover, reinforcing Vietnam’s status as a leading global supplier of wooden furniture.
Although there are many positive signals from export markets, excessive reliance on a single market also carries risks. Experts stress the importance of market diversification, encouraging local firms to expand into Japan, China, and Europe to ensure sustainable growth. They also point to the domestic market of more than 100 million consumers as a promising avenue, given rising Vietnamese consumer demand for high-quality wooden and handicraft products.
This year’s four-day event is expected to draw more than 10,000 visitors and buyers.
