VIFA EXPO 2025 opens in HCM City, seeks cooperation opportunities
VOV.VN - The 16th Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA EXPO 2025) officially kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on March 5, attracting the participation of 650 local and foreign firms from 19 countries worldwide.

On display across the 2,500 pavilions are a range of furniture and handicraft products from a large number of renowned suppliers and manufacturers from both Vietnam and abroad.
Addressing the event, Vo Tan Thanh, vice president of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), emphasised that the fair will play a significant role in linking local businesses to international markets, as well as updating trends and expanding cooperation opportunities to bring Vietnamese products closer to global consumers.
In particular, in partnership with leading cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Wayfair, the fair will offer huge export opportunities to support businesses as they strive to reach global consumers more effectively, he added.
Vu Ba Phu, director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, emphasised that despite competitive advantages such as recovery in consumer demand, tariff incentives under free trade agreements (FTAs), and the trend of shifting global supply chains, the wood industry has faced numerous challenges. These include global political and economic fluctuations, trade protectionism trends, and requirements of origin traceability, environmental standards, and sustainable development.
Phu stressed that local businesses are required to focus on the trend of green transformation and should strive to meet strict regulations on product legality and sustainability, low carbon emissions, and social responsibility set by major export markets such as the European Union and the United States in the time ahead.
With export turnover of timber and wood products recording impressive growth in the initial months of the year, the wood industry is anticipated to rake in over US$18 billion from exports this year.
