Vietravel Airlines adds Airbus A320 aircraft to meet year-end travel demand
To meet the growing year-end travel demand for business, tourism, and family visits, Vietravel Airlines has added an Airbus A320 with 180 seats to its fleet.
The aircraft officially entered service on October 26.
Along with the fleet expansion, the carrier has increased flight frequency to six daily round trips on the busy Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route. Other major routes such as Hanoi – Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc continue to operate at least two daily flights each to ensure flexible travel options for passengers.
Starting October 26, the Ho Chi Minh City – Bangkok service also resumes, with daily flights and special promotional fares starting from VND55,000 (US$2.09). Passengers on this route will enjoy a free 23kg checked baggage allowance and receive a 1GB eSIM in cooperation with Gohub.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, which will last nine days from February 14 to 22, Vietravel Airlines plans to offer 8,000–10,000 seats on flights from Ho Chi Minh City to other localities before Tet, and in the reverse direction after Tet. Fares will start from VND868,000 per ticket, excluding taxes and fees.
For low-demand one-way flights, the airline will offer super-discounted fares of just VND1,000 per ticket, along with a VND100,000 voucher for future bookings.
The number of air travellers during the Lunar New Year is expected to increase by 10–15% compared to the same period in 2024, given the longer gap between New Year and the Lunar New Year holidays. Vietravel Airlines has already recorded strong early ticket sales in October, with both revenue and passenger numbers showing higher growth than in the same period last year.
