Vietnamese products gain attention at Foodservice Australia 2026
VOV.VN - Australian consumers showed strong interest in environmentally friendly Vietnamese products, particularly hospitality items, at Foodservice Australia 2026, held in Sydney from May 25–27, according to Vietnam’s Trade Office in Australia.
Tran Thi Thanh My, Vietnamese Deputy Consul General and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, said the event brought together enterprises, manufacturers, suppliers, and foodservice experts from countries including Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy, the United States, and across Europe.
She described the fair as a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese companies to showcase their products, connect with customers and importers, and stay updated on emerging trends in food, beverages, and foodservice equipment.
After the three-day exhibition, My noted that Australian consumers showed particular interest in environmentally friendly products, especially hospitality items such as bowls, plates, straws, and organic products from Vietnam.
The Australian market, particularly Asian distribution chains, has long shown interest in Vietnamese goods, providing a significant advantage for domestic exporters, she added.
According to her, Vietnamese products entering the Australian market face strong competition from similar goods produced in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. Nevertheless, Vietnamese businesses are confident in the quality of their products, particularly in terms of raw materials and environmentally sustainable production practices that are criteria increasingly valued by Australian consumers and retailers.
At Foodservice Australia 2026, the Vietnam Trade Office also promoted an international supply-demand connectivity event scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City this September. The large-scale event is expected to bring together Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters in sectors such as agriculture, food, and consumer goods. Australian partners have reportedly shown strong interest and received detailed information from the Trade Office.
However, the Trade Office chief emphasised that, to further expand their presence, Vietnamese enterprises must become more proactive in meeting market standards, seeking partners, and integrating more deeply into distribution systems.
She expressed confidence that if companies continue improving quality standards and pursuing green, sustainable development, the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in Australia would continue to grow, opening up broader opportunities in the future.
Throughout the exhibition, several reputable Australian companies expressed appreciation for the quality and diversity of Vietnamese food products, as well as their increasingly modern and professional packaging.
The positive feedback from international buyers and visitors highlights the growing recognition of Vietnamese food and consumer products, paving the way for domestic businesses to expand their presence in global markets in the years ahead.
Foodservice Australia 2026, Australia’s largest annual trade fair for the food, beverage, restaurant, hotel, and catering industries, attracted more than 10,000 businesses, suppliers, and industry professionals to Sydney’s International Convention Centre.
