HCM City hosts Meet Australia 2026 to boost trade and investment ties

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to host “Meet Australia 2026” from May 18 to 20 at the Binh Duong Convention & Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 100 Australian businesses and around 200 delegates to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and workforce development.

According to a newly issued plan by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the event is part of efforts to deepen international integration, expand economic diplomacy and implement the Vietnam–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in line with the city’s new development priorities.

The programme will showcase Ho Chi Minh City’s investment environment, new development spaces, major infrastructure projects and priority sectors seeking international cooperation. It will also serve as a platform connecting government agencies, trade promotion organisations, business associations, investors, and the business communities of both countries.

Participants are expected to include representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, Ho Chi Minh City leaders, local departments, universities, business associations and domestic enterprises. On the Australian side, delegates will include representatives from government agencies, diplomatic missions, trade and investment promotion organisations and foreign businesses.

The business forum will focus on key panels such as trade and investment promotion between Ho Chi Minh City and Australia, cooperation in green energy development, and the development of human resources for Vietnam and Australia in the future.

Alongside the policy discussions, business-to-business (B2B) networking activities involving more than 100 Australian companies will be organised based on sector-specific demand, aiming to help enterprises identify suitable partners and expand practical cooperation opportunities.
