Vietnam Green Transformation Association officially set up
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Green Transformation Association (VGTA) has been established, marking a new step in the country’s efforts to reshape its growth model, meet international commitments on greenhouse gas emissions, and progress toward its net-zero target by 2050.
Under a decision issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on December 30, VGTA is a professional social organisation operating in the field of green transformation and sustainable development.
The association has legal status, its own seal and bank account, and is responsible for funding, offices, and operational resources. It operates in compliance with the law and under the supervision of the Ministry of Home Affairs and other relevant ministries.
Prior to this decision, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment approved the Association’s founding committee. Accordingly, an 11-member founding committee was recognised and tasked with conducting outreach, mobilising participation from organisations and individuals, and completing the legal documentation required for submission to competent authorities.
According to its initial direction, the Vietnam Green Transformation Association aims to build a supportive ecosystem for businesses undertaking green transformation, aligning with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, and capitalising on opportunities from the low-carbon economy. Through these efforts, the Association seeks to enhance the competitiveness and international integration of Vietnamese enterprises while contributing to sustainable national development.
