Vietnam-China Trade and Tourism Fair opens in Quang Ninh
VOV.VN - The 17th Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair opened in Quang Ninh province on December 11, with more than 200 businesses from both countries showcasing products across 350 exhibition booths.
The event, part of the national trade promotion programme, features a diverse range of products, including high-potential exports, OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, and rural industrial products from both countries.
In his opening remarks, Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, emphasised the fair’s significance, noting that it has evolved into a major platform for economic cooperation, trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.
“The fair now holds wide-reaching influence, particularly across Vietnam’s border regions and China’s southwestern provinces,” he said.
The fair plays a key role in strengthening trade ties between Vietnam and China, with a focus on fostering collaboration between businesses and local governments from both sides.
Huo Xiao Ning, Deputy Director of Guangxi’s Department of Commerce, highlighted the stable growth in trade between the two countries, describing it as a symbol of the enduring friendship between Vietnam and China.
This year’s fair includes 62 booths from China and more than 250 from Vietnam, representing 162 companies across 31 provinces. It is expected to further solidify the longstanding trade relationship between the two countries, which has seen steady growth in recent years. By October 2025, bilateral trade reached US$207.8 billion, surpassing the total for 2024.
Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, pointed to the continued development of the Vietnam-China partnership.
“China remains Vietnam’s largest trading partner, and Vietnam is China’s fourth largest trading partner globally, underscoring the importance of this relationship,” he said.
The fair also features a series of cultural, economic, and sporting events, including an investment promotion forum, a cross-border cultural exchange between Mong Cai and Dongxing youth, and the Mong Cai 2025 International Friendship Run. These activities aim to strengthen people-to-people ties and enhance diplomatic relations between Quang Ninh and Guangxi.
