US semiconductor firm Marvell expands operations in Da Nang
VOV.VN - Marvell Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of US technology group Marvell, has inaugurated an expanded office at Da Nang Software Park No. 2, reinforcing the central city’s efforts to attract high-tech investment and develop its semiconductor ecosystem.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on November 5, Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, welcomed the company's expansion of its research and working facilities in the city.
The move reflects the results of the city's efforts to attract investment, strengthen connections with businesses and develop its technology infrastructure, dating back to an investment promotion visit to Silicon Valley in the United States in October 2023.
To put Da Nang Software Park No. 2 into operation and make office space available to technology companies, the city has worked alongside government agencies to address obstacles involving public investment mechanisms and the management of public assets. Marvell was among the first technology companies to take up space at the complex and expand its operations there.
According to the official, the city is preparing to bring the VSAP Lab semiconductor testing facility into operation at the software park. It is also continuing to invest in expanding the park's landscaped areas and developing facilities for an international financial centre linked to a financial technology (fintech) ecosystem.
He expressed his expectation that stronger collaboration between the local government, businesses and universities would help Da Nang gradually master strategic technologies.
pledged to continue supporting Marvell by providing the necessary infrastructure and facilities as the company expands its workforce and operations locally.
A Marvell Vietnam representative praised Da Nang's investment incentives and business support policies, particularly tax incentives for the semiconductor industry, and reaffirmed the company's commitment to a long-term presence in the city.
Marvell will continue to develop its local workforce and collaborate with universities on training and advanced research, with the aim of building a highly skilled pool of semiconductor chip engineers, the representative added.
