Tay Ninh efficiently attracts foreign resources

VOV.VN - Bordering Cambodia to the west and northwest, Tay Ninh province promoted foreign affairs, proactively expanded international cooperation, and strengthened friendly exchanges with localities and foreign partners during the nine-month period.

Through these efforts, the province boosted its profile, enhanced its standing, and mobilized additional resources for socio-economic development.

Implementing international integration policies, Tay Ninh became involved in investment, trade, and tourism promotion programs in the US, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

The province coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the 2026 Tay Ninh import-export supply chain and e-commerce connection conference, drawing roughly 650 delegates, including over 170 foreign enterprises from 27 countries and territories.

The 2026 investment promotion conference attracted about 500 investors, with provincial administration issuing investment policy decisions and registration certificates for over 100 projects totaling roughly VND920 trillion (approx. US$35.15 billion).

Foreign resource attraction yielded positive outcomes through external relations and international cooperation. The province licensed 113 new foreign direct investment projects totaling more than US$838 million in registered capital through September.

International trade maintained growth momentum with total import-export turnover estimated at US$27.044 billion, marking a 17.5% year-on-year increase. International tourism showed positive shifts with approximately 190,000 foreign visitors arriving in the locality, with Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area being a major destination attracting visitors.

Alongside expanding cooperation with international partners, Tay Ninh particularly focused on consolidating traditional friendly relations with adjacent localities of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The province signed cooperation agreements with three provinces-Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, and Tboung Khmum, maintaining exchanges, border management coordination, and people-to-people diplomacy, thereby contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

The province directed the search, recovery, and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia. Executing the 500-day-night campaign over the past nine months, the province held memorial and burial services for 158 remains while recovering 357 out of 600 target remains. Management, reception, and processing of citizens handed over by Cambodian functional forces proceeded strictly and safely under established regulations.

Tay Ninh coordinated with central ministries and sectors to finalize the pilot mechanism and policy scheme for Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, while advancing river port services, logistics, and cross-border transport links. Key external transport infrastructure, including the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai expressway, Go Dau-Xa Mat expressway, Tan An-Binh Hiep road, and the connecting bridge at Tan Nam-Meun Chey international border gate pair, concentrated on resolving bottlenecks to speed up construction progress.

At the 9th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee on October 1, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet directed party committees, party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations across the province to continue strengthening cooperation with localities, organizations, and foreign partners, while raising the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy, economic diplomacy, and friendly exchanges.
