Petrol prices remain unchanged, oil prices rise as of June 21

VOV.VN - The retail prices of petrol levered off for the second consecutive time, while those of oil saw a slight increase, as of 3 p.m. on June 21 in the latest price adjustment made by the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

Accordingly, the price of RON-95 III stayed at VND22,010 per litre, whilst E5 RON 92 is still priced at VND20,870 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel oil went up by VND150 to VND18,170 per litre, and that of kerosene rose by VND130 to VND17,950 per litre.

However, the price of mazut endured a drop of VND130 to reach VND14,590 per kilogramme.

The two ministries also decided to extract VND191 per litre from the E5 RON 92 price, VND139 per litre from the price of RON 95-III, VND100 per litre from the diesel price and kerosene price, and VND100 per kilogramme from the price of mazut from the petrol price stabilisation fund.

Since the beginning of the year, petrol prices have been revised up nine times, down six times, and left unchanged three times.

In the global market, on June 21 the price of Brent oil fell by US$2.05 to US$74.56 per barrel, while the WTI oil price was reduced by US$1.75 to US$69.89 per barrel.

Global crude oil prices dropped amid concerns about a slow recovery of the Chinese economy, the impact of OPEC production cuts from last week, and a decrease in the number of oil and gas rigs operating in the United States.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has therefore revised up its forecast for global oil demand for this year by 2.4 million barrel per day to reach a record high of 102.3 million barrel per day. The agency also forecast that global oil demand will decline by 860,000 barrel per day in 2024 due to unfavourable economic growth predictions.

Global oil supply predicted to increase slightly at 101.3 million barrel per day throughout the year, rising to 102.3 million barrel per day ahead in 2024.
