Petrol prices up by VND500/litre on June 1

VOV.VN - The retail prices of petrol were revised up by VND500 per litre as of 3 p.m. on June 1, following the most recent changes made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance.

According to the alterations, the price of E5 RON 92 petrol has risen by VND390 to VND20,878 per litre, while that of RON 95 rose by VND516 to VND22,015 per litre.

In contrast, the prices of oil were also adjusted down.

The prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were capped at VND17,943 per litre and VND17,771 per litre, marking declines of VND11 and VND198 per litre, respectively.

The price of Mazut oil also dropped by VND275 to VND14,883 per kilogram.

During this price adjustment, the two ministries decided to extract VND300 per litre from the petrol and oil price stabilisation fund for all petrol and oil.

Explaining the changes made to petrol and oil prices, the two ministries said that from May 22 to June 1, petrol and oil prices were affected by OPEC+'s oil production cuts, worries related to the United States’ debt ceiling, industrial activity stagnation, and higher interest rates posing the risk of economic recession.
