Over 580 firms honoured as High-Quality Vietnamese Goods marks 30-year milestone
VOV.VN - More than 580 Vietnamese enterprises were honoured with the “High-Quality Vietnamese Goods” title in 2026, as the long-running programme marked its 30th anniversary on March 31.
The award ceremony, held in Ho Chi Minh City, was attended by Le Minh Hoan, vice chairman of the National Assembly, who highlighted the programme’s role in strengthening consumer trust in domestic products over the past three decades.
This year, 581 enterprises received the title, including 28 that have maintained the recognition continuously for 30 years and 42 first-time honorees.
Speaking at the event, Hoan stressed that Vietnamese businesses must aim beyond the domestic market and expand internationally, reinforcing product quality and sustainable development capacity.
“Trust belongs to enterprises that uphold integrity, honour commitments, and consistently pursue long-term values, even without supervision,” he noted.
According to Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, chairwoman of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company PNJ and one of the companies recognised for three consecutive decades, the programme goes beyond a simple voting initiative. It also provides advisory support and connects businesses with experts to promote sustainable growth.
Launched in 1996 by Sai Gon Tiep Thi newspaper during Vietnam’s post-Đổi mới (Renewal) economic transition, the programme remains the only initiative in the country based entirely on direct consumer voting. Since 2012, the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Business Association has taken over its organisation and annual survey activities.
Survey methods have evolved significantly, from manual data collection at trade fairs to mail surveys and consumer diaries, and now to nationwide online polling.
The 2026 survey, conducted from September 2025 to January 2026, combined in-person surveys in eight provinces and cities with online voting nationwide, attracting more than 155,000 responses. From over 4,400 nominated enterprises, the final list was verified through multiple rounds involving 39 departments across 23 localities, alongside feedback from media and consumers, ensuring transparency and credibility.
This year’s ceremony also launched the “High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Year,” a series of nationwide activities leading up to the 30th anniversary week scheduled for early October.
Assessing the programme’s impact, Bui Minh Thanh, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods label has become a trusted brand that enhances product quality, strengthens consumer confidence, and boosts the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in global integration.
In an increasingly demanding market, businesses can no longer compete on price alone but must focus on transparency, responsibility, and adaptability.
Economist Pham Chi Lan emphasised that the programme’s success over the past 30 years stems from pioneering enterprises committed to quality as a core competitive advantage, reinforcing the belief that Vietnamese companies can meet high standards.
Many businesses view the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods title not only as recognition but also as a commitment to the market. Pham Thi Xuan Huong, CEO of OPC Pharmaceutical, described the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods logo as a symbol of trust that requires companies to continuously innovate, maintain transparency, and improve customer experience.
Similarly, Tran Phuong Nga, CEO of stationery and office equipment supplier Thien Long, affirmed that despite product diversification, the company is committed to core quality standards to sustain long-term trust.
In the food sector, representatives of instant noodles Colusa – Miliket noted that the company continues to preserve the traditional identity of its iconic “two-shrimp” instant noodles while investing in technology to improve quality.
Vu Kim Hanh, chairwoman of the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Business Association, said the programme’s core value lies in its independence and consumer-centric approach. In the new phase, it is transitioning from “recording trust” to “building and elevating trust.”
Amid intensifying competition, the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods title is not only an honour but also a driving force for enterprises to innovate, improve product quality, standardise processes, and strengthen international integration capacity.
