Newly established and reactivated businesses grow in numbers
VOV.VN - As many as 49,800 companies were either newly established or resumed operations in the opening two months of the year, up 19.3% over the same period last year, the General Statistics Office (GSO) unveiled.
On average, there were more than 24,900 new firms returning to operation each month.
Meanwhile, about 67,000 enterprises withdrew from the market during the January - February period, rising by 6.9% year on year.
Of the total, there were 20,800 newly-established firms, down 8.9%, with combined registered capital of over VND230.4 trillion, 4.9% higher than the figure from the same period last year.
The new businesses in the first two months of the year registered a total of 140,700 workers, falling by 22.7% from 2024.
In February alone, it is estimated that 10,100 enterprises were newly established. Elsewhere, approximately 7,100 businesses resumed their operations, and 11,391 firms withdrew from the market.
About 3,554 companies registered to suspend business activities for a definite period, dropping by 93.3% against January and down 30.9% year on year.
Throughout the reviewed period, as many as 2,971 enterprises stopped operating and were waiting for dissolution procedures, an increase of 38%, while 1,737 firms completed dissolution procedures, up 44.4%.
