NA leader attends groundbreaking ceremony for VSIP II Quang Ngai industrial park
VOV.VN - On March 12, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park, an investment, construction, and infrastructure development project.

The event took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising (March 11, 1945 – March 11, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai province’s liberation (March 24, 1975 – March 24, 2025). It also coincided with Party General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to Singapore, during which the two countries upgraded their bilateral ties. This serves as a strong testament to the deepening, effective cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.
Twelve years ago, the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Singapore witnessed the groundbreaking of the VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial-Urban-Service Park. Since then, VSIP Quang Ngai has developed more than 500 hectares of infrastructure, following a model of professional, eco-friendly, and green industrial zones. The park has attracted 43 projects with a total investment of over US$1.2 billion, including 38 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from the US, Japan, Thailand, Belgium, China, and Singapore. Currently, 34 projects are in operation, creating over 36,000 jobs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highlighted VSIP Quang Ngai’s success as a major milestone, demonstrating its contribution to the province’s socio-economic development. It has also played a pivotal role in boosting Vietnam-Singapore business and investment ties, while beefing up closer cooperation between the two governments, their people, and business communities.
On behalf of the Government, Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged the efforts of local authorities, the contributions of domestic and foreign enterprises, particularly Singaporean investors, and the support of residents in the project area. Their combined efforts have been instrumental in the success of VSIP Quang Ngai today, Binh went on to say.

To ensure the timely and effective implementation of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park, he called on Sembcorp and Becamex to further promote the VSIP Industrial-Urban-Service model. He urged them to develop VSIP II Quang Ngai into a smart, modern, and sustainable industrial park, integrating industrial ecosystems with innovation, urban development, services, and high technology. He also underscored the need for industrialization to be aligned with community development, infrastructure planning, and the local knowledge economy.
Covering 497.7 hectares, the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park has a registered total investment of approximately US$161 million. Designed to be a green, smart, and sustainable industrial zone, the project is expected to further attract investors to Quang Ngai. Once operational, it will serve as a key destination for leading global corporations looking to expand their production and business operations in the time ahead.
