Mong Cai International Border Gate adjusts entry-exit lanes
VOV.VN - Starting March 23, 2026, Mong Cai International Border Gate in northern Quang Ninh province adjusted the entry-exit (E/E) lanes at Bac Luan I and Bac Luan II bridges, connecting Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China).
According to the Quang Ninh Border Gate Management Board, Bac Luan I will process only certain categories of travelers: Vietnamese-Chinese border residents using border pass E/E documents; Chinese citizens holding one-year multiple-entry permits; visitors from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan applying for Chinese entry documents; and international tourists obtaining visas at the border.
At Bac Luan II, authorities will handle all travelers with valid E/E documents. Most tourists and travel groups will therefore be directed to Bac Luan II for processing.
The lane adjustments aim to maintain smooth E/E operations while the Chinese side develops a smart border checkpoint at Bac Luan I, a project launched on February 11, 2026, targeting advanced technology and a digital border model in the future.
Daily operating hours remain unchanged, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Hanoi time) and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Beijing time), facilitating trade, tourism, and cross-border travel.
To meet increased E/E demand, Bac Luan II has upgraded equipment, allocated additional staff, and enhanced traffic management to reduce waiting times and prevent congestion.
The Quang Ninh Border Gate Management Board has also urged related units, especially service providers, to ensure sufficient shuttle vehicles and improve facilities such as waiting areas, service zones, and parking lots to enhance service quality.
