Many Belgian businesses keen to cooperate with Da Nang, says Ambassador
VOV.VN - During his working visit to Da Nang on August 25, Ambassador Karl Van den Bossche said that many Belgian businesses are interested in cooperating with the city, particularly in the fields of shipbuilding, high technology, and logistics.

Meeting with the leadership of the municipal administration, Ambassador den Bossche expressed his impression of Da Nang’s recent development achievements, noting that Belgium in general, and the Flanders region in particular, is among Vietnam’s major trade and investment partners in the European Union.
The Ambassador expressed confidence that with Da Nang’s many new potential, especially its Free Trade Zone to take shape in the future, the two sides could strengthen cooperation in the time ahead.
In 2012, Da Nang signed a cooperation agreement with the Wallonia-Brussels region and the French-speaking Belgian Community in the areas of education and trade-investment promotion. Currently, there are two Belgian FDI projects registered in Da Nang with a total investment of about US$40,000.
At the meeting, Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, briefed the Belgian Ambassador on the city’s latest situation. He emphasised Da Nang’s new potential and development orientations, particularly the Free Trade Zone, the International Financial Centre, and Lien Chieu Port.
Minh requested that the Belgian Embassy, and the Ambassador personally, continue to introduce Belgian investors and potential partners to explore cooperation, investment, and business opportunities in Da Nang.
“We sincerely hope that through the Ambassador’s visit, we can connect Belgian businesses and localities with Da Nang City as well as enterprises here. This would foster cooperation in tourism, investment, and especially in emerging sectors such as the Free Trade Zone, financial centre, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence,” said Minh.
