Logistics – key to boosting Vietnam’s export competitiveness in US market
VOV.VN - Logistics is a critical factor in strengthening the global competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses, particularly in the US market, emphasised experts at a seminar in Hanoi on June 19.

Logistics is no longer just a technical component but a core competency that enables Vietnamese enterprises to sustain their competitive edge in the US, said Bui Quang Hung, deputy director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
He shared that applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain in logistics management, along with leveraging next-generation free trade agreements (FTAs), will help businesses reduce costs, increase transparency, and meet the strict standards of this demanding market.
According to the trade official, the MoIT is actively implementing various initiatives to support enterprises. Key areas include providing timely market and policy information and enhancing export capabilities.
The Ministry is also promoting logistics service development at the local level and strengthening connections between logistics service providers and manufacturing/export businesses.
The goal is to build a logistics chain that operates smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations, especially amid intensifying global trade competition, said Hung.
In addition, specialised training programmes on supply chain management, logistics optimisation, and compliance with international standards are being rolled out to help Vietnamese businesses adapt more effectively to the increasingly stringent demands of global markets, particularly the US, a strategic export destination for Vietnam.
VIETRADE reaffirms its commitment to accompanying businesses, promoting sustainable, tech-driven logistics solutions, and supporting the development of national branding for Vietnamese export products, he stated.
